What could be more exciting than photographing some of the amazing waterfalls in Western North Carolina? And as this workshop occurs in early October – there is a great chance of brilliant fall color!!!

Good photographs of the Waterfalls and the North Carolina Landscape are not in short supply. Michael Hare has a desire to introduce you to new sights, imaginative ideas and some very unique waterfall vantage points. You will create distinctive images that you will want to keep looking at upon your return home and a maybe even a few that can be hung on your wall to show guests your fantastic experience.

Remember - it's all about the light! Great subjects photographed in poor lighting make for ordinary photos. But shoot an ordinary subject in great lighting, and you will make a terrific image. We are not going to miss any of the great lighting possibilities on this tour. You will photograph in the golden light of sunrise and sunset and in the magic twilight of dusk and dawn.

I want you to make the best images you possibly can. We will be going strong, every day beginning with a sunrise shoot and some ending with a sunset and possibly some night photography, all at varying locations across western North Carolina. My goal is to visit 10-12 waterfalls and 2-3 different locations on the Blue Ridge Parkway during the workshop.

This workshop is designed to be “all inclusive” – once you arrive at Mitchell’s Lodge and Cottages in Highlands, N.C., everything within reason will be provided. All workshop instruction, meals (less alcohol at dinner), lodging and transportation costs are included in the price. Snacks and beverages such as soda, water, beer and wine will be available for your enjoyment after dinner. For those workshop participants that fly into Asheville, N.C., I will pick you up at the airport. However, as it takes approximately 90 minutes to go from the airport to Mitchell’s Lodge, please arrange your arrival time as early as possible in the day. Price does not airfare, any meals except those as noted above, alcoholic beverages and items of a personal nature.
